Last year, I met the most wonderful British couple on Skype. I knew in that meeting that we would get along famously and I wasn’t wrong. They booked me almost immediately (Yay!) and when it finally came time for their big day I could not have been more excited. I had never been to Malta, before and was looking forward to a fresh location and some new light. The day before their Wedding, my Assistant and I, together with Bride Jennifer and Groom Kristian and their gorgeous maid of Honour headed out to Djingli Cliffs for a Pre-Wedding Shoot. We were in a race against time with the slowest cab driver in the universe to NOT miss the sunset, but miss it we did not and ended up with the most gorgeous light I’ve ever seen.
The next day started early for Jennifer and Kristian at Hotel Phoenicia and as weddings go, theirs was not lacking the usual hiccups… late flowers, missing stylist, etc…. but none of it mattered, because everything came together so beautifully and there was a huge audible gasp when all the women in the room saw Jennifer in her gorgeous wedding gown for the first time! Truly the most beautiful dress I’d seen with an AMAZING back-line, which we certainly made sure to capture.
I really loved this wedding and I loved the guests, too. It is, by far, the most fun I’ve ever had at work in my entire life and my face hurt so much from smiling the next day I think I was all smiled out! This group of people made this wedding special and I don’t think Jennifer and Kristian could have had it any better. Not one of their guests were afraid to ham it up for the camera and everyone at some point or other pulled a face for me!! I LOVE when wedding parties and guests play along!
It really was an honour to travel to Malta for this destination wedding with Jennifer and Kristian and I really hope we stay in touch… note… I expect an email when the first little Kritter comes along. 😉
