Swedish Wedding at Danmarks Byggdegård
There’s been a lot of rain this summer in Sweden but back in May, we got our first taste of some truly warm weather. 28°C in May is almost un-heard of so it was a nice change from the colder weather. To take advantage of the warm day Sandra, Hans and me headed out to a place near Uppsala for a first look portrait session before meeting the couple at Danmarks Byggdegård. They arrived in true fashion in a black stretch Mini-Cooper and walked down the isle with their two adorable kids where they drank from a Celtic style goblet to seal their wedding vows.
Their bird themed wedding was all hand crafted and put together by the couple themselves and Sandra’s tireless efforts looking for bird statues in flea markets really paid off as every table managed to have at least 3 gorgeous birds as decorations to match the masonary jars filled with candles. They truly created a wedding that was unique to their style and exactly one week after the wedding I get a text from Hans saying that he’d just been shat on by a bird! It was meant to be! LOL
Thank you, Sandra and Hans, for allowing me to document your day. I am honoured to call you my family.
